The Mimic
As a young boy, Cole Peters loved to ride his bike in the rain. Going through the puddles was a blast and seeing the waves of water shoot out in waves was really cool. The problem is, the Tampa Bay area is known more for its fantastical lightning storms, than it is for its robust yearly rain fall. A bolt from above, seemingly pre-destined for its accuracy, struck the boy and pummeled him violently to the ground, unconscious and in instantly in a coma. Once at the hospital, Initial brain scans revealed limited activity, and his doctors and parents sense that he may never recover.
Two years pass, when in a moment that shocks all, Cole awakens,. He can move his arms and legs and turn his head from side to side. He can hear people, but he can’t move or open his eyes. What he can do, however, is hear people’s thoughts and can actually mimic their words almost as fast as they speak them.
In time and with ongoing therapy, Cole recovers to a state of near normal physical and mental activities. Yet, his unique new skill has caught the attention of his dad’s CIA bosses. Special agent in charge Clark Perkins sees the potential for an undercover mole that could “change the spy game.”
