The Cartel
Blake Thomas had found something. During a routine audit, an aberration in deposits and withdrawals had caught his eye. His job was supposed to just be a glossing over of account information, but the findings, Blake decided to do a deep-dive of the data. In short order, it became apparent that the entries were more than a little bit suspicious.
Eventually, he’d shown his boss his findings, but Julio Tavares seemed unable, or unwilling, to alert anyone in senior management. Now, due to his own volition, he had flown from Miami and was now sitting in the waiting room of Banco de Jacal in Columbia, waiting to present his findings to five members of the bank board. Three days later, Blake would be back in Miami, in a coma, with massive injuries to his body, including a slightly crushed skull that was the direct cause of his coma. His condition was grave, and he clung to life, but he was supposed to be dead – at least that’s what those responsible for his beating believed he would be. In time, surviving these injuries would bring down one of the largest drug Cartel’s in South America – though not without severe consequences to many.
